Between May 13 and May 17, 2009 the 2009 St Joseph International Guitar Festival was held at the Missouri Western Department of Music in St. Joseph Missouri.  Drawing a festival record for participants and competitors, the 2009 competition featured performers from around the world.  The jury included Jury President:
Anthony Glise, Lynn McGrath, Glenn Kurtz, Douglas Niedt, and Michael Fuson.

The winners were as follows:

1st Prize, Joseph Williams II (US)

2nd Prize, Austin Moorhead (US)

3rd Prize Nemanja Ostojic (Serbia)
