2009 GFA Private Lessons and MasterclassesAll lessons and masterclasses will take place at the Ithaca College Whalen Center For Music. PRIVATE LESSONSGFA is excited to offer a new private lessons package available to all registered convention participants. The package includes private, 30-minute lessons with three different convention artists (90 minutes total) for an introductory rate of $100. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from world-class artists, and make the most of your time at the convention. PLEASE NOTE: space and availability is limited, and not all requests for teacher preference can be honored. Private lessons will be available ONLY to applicants who are registered for the full week. GFA reserves the right to substitute artists and lesson times if necessary. Only the first 50 applications will be accepted, so sign up soon!
MASTERCLASSESConvention registrants are invited to audition to perform in the following masterclasses:
Programs will be prepared for each class, and selected performers and the repertoire they will play in the lesson will be posted each day at the GFA table in the Vendor Fair, encouraging other registrants to come see a lesson on a piece they are working on, or to support their friends. There is a $45 fee for masterclass lessons, payable upon notification of acceptance into the class. Masterclass performers must be registered for the Convention. Priority will be given to CDs received by April 15, 2009. All applicants will be notified of the results of their audition no later than May 15, 2009. To audition for a lesson, print and complete the Masterclass Audition Form, and mail it, along with an audition CD that includes two short contrasting works, to the address on the form. Any questions, please contact Convention Masterclass Coordinator Corey Harvin.
